"1/ THE FINAL RITUAL AS A BIRTHING PROCESS – SUGGESTION
Maybe Eckhardt doesn't transform into a Nephilim himself but has managed to create the perfect Nephilim-human host body. The ritual involves bringing this body to life and then Eckhardt taking it over.
Lara sabotages the ceremony when Eckhardt  is just about to complete his soul transfer, this forces his soul back into his now dying old body.
The mosaic chamber where the ritual takes place could actually be a "birthing chamber" built above an amniotic pool with the water Lara swims around in actually being "slimy birth juice.
 
2/ HOW ECKHARDT WAS KEPT CONFINED IN CASTLE KRIEGLER.
The Lux Veritatis  kept him locked up (see James’ cool sketches) in chains and a metal suit with ornate openings over key parts of his body. The three Periapt Shards were jammed like vampire stakes into these openings keeping him powerless and in constant pain coz he can’t die.

3/ SHAPESHIFTER’S NEPHILIM TELL TALE SIGNS.
Possible ShapeShifter’s telltale signs during gameplay - The Nephilim marks/sign:  
Swirls on the skin.
Extra digit on each hand?
 
NB - ShapeShifter as Karel always wears gloves – to hide his swirls or ring or extra digits.
 
ShapeShifter appears in Paris as:
  • A Louvre guard-gangster (who steals Kurtis’ painting).
ShapeShifter appears in Prague as:
  • Bouchard at the Prague art dealers.
  • A.n.Other?
  • In GAME II – revealed as Eckhardt killing Von Croy.

"IDEAS – things to note, keep track of, consider
 
  1. Chemicals from the alchemist’s lab reveal hidden Nephilim images/symbols.
  2. Lux Veritatis  texts decry Nephilim as evil – they are right.
  3. Lara gets hints about ShapeShifter’s abilities in Mss.
  4. Christian warnings on the Obscura Paintings are about the alignment of the five paintings.
  5. Officially Bouchard is dead –has been for years.
  6. Monstrum’s Victims get carved up into five pieces – ritual.
  7. Eckhardt kills to revive his shrivelling form and to harvest vital bio-elements for his alchemical circuitry (using the Obscura Paintings).
  8. All that happens in Alchemy translates naturally into contemporary hi-tech techniques.
  9. Kurtis knows how to read the hidden symbols on the Obscura Paintings using the 3 Periapt Discs.
  10. Kurtis knows how to trance-farsee using the Discs.
  11. Eckhardt has at one time caught a Nephilim and dissected it/her/him for genetic material.
  12. Illusionist mustn’t shapeshift – keep this ability for ShapeShifter alone.
  13. But the illusions Rouzic uses prepares Lara for this type of unreliable realities.
  14. Need forewarning of the Portal’s existence.
  15. The Portal opens on a time limit – it is shrinking.
  16. Portal set into a solid feature like a wall.
  17. Prague not Paris as the antechamber to Hell.
  18. Lara trails an LV in the sand to make contact with LV sympathisers in Turkey.
  19. Aquatic mutants/sentinels in the Strahov or at the sunken Nephilim settlement.
  20. Different types of Golem are possible – blood Golem, flesh, salt, clay, dung Golem etc.
  21. Eckhardt has had all the exits to the lowest levels rigged to seal – like the sliding stone blocks in Egyptian tombs.
  22. The vat-creatures are all stages in developing the perfect human receptacle for Nephilim-human breeding.
  23. Vat-creatures are a 20th century reconstruction of Eckhardt’s 13th century experimental communities – they produce more rapid, more controllable results –for ichors, fluxes and vapours read serums, genetics, breeder reactors etc
  24. In the final struggle with Lara Eckhardt taunts her with Kurtis not being dead.
  25. An avalanche of salt can immobilise Eckhardt .
  26. The Obscura Paintings Lara and Kurtis find in the Vault is packed in salt – Boaz’s attempt to hide and protect it from Eckhardt .
  27. Nephilim settlement has its own ‘Stone Guardians’ gargoyles who are based on the Nephilim.
  28. Rouzic has his own grisly demon museum-wax figures tableau (but are they just models?).
  29. Introduce a new character-element for Lara’s escape from the tomb.
  30. Make KURTIS stronger – unique abilities/moves. American, part American, American mother? Use his initiate past as reluctant demon hunter and give him occult abilities? Pursued by…something?
  31. Strengthen the first appearance of the Cabal in Prague Medical.
  32. See Eckhardt using the Glove and alchemical abilities..."

‘That was too close for comfort. I didn’t realise how out of shape I was. This looks like a safe area. I can practice  my skills.’

1/ PS2 – WALK RUN SIDESTEP
THINKING -  
 INSTRUCTION - To move me around use the left analog stick. Push forward gently to walk and all the way forward to run. Holding the walk button stops me falling off any ledges and will also allow me to sidestep by pushing left or right.
 
2/ PS2 – CLIMB ON BIN
THINKING - ‘I need to get out of this courtyard. That bin looks  
climbable.’
INSTRUCTION – To climb the bin stand next to it and push forward on the left analog stick.
3/ PS2 - CLIMB ONTO BALCONY
THINKING -  
INSTRUCTION – To grab the balcony walk to the edge of the bin and  
press the jump button. Now push forward on  
the left analog stick to climb up.
 
4/ PS2 – JUMP A GAP
THINKING - ‘This gap looks easy. To jump the gap walk to the edge
and stop.’
INSTRUCTION – Now press the jump button and push forward on the left  
analog stick at the same time.
 
5/ CHOICE OF LADDER OR EXIT
 THINKING Hm, shall I go straight on or climb that ladder?..."

  1. Put a scummy, deserted pool with a pawnable item at the bottom in the Paris streets level.
  1. Lara finds an abandoned toy gun and cans lines up in a backyard – for targeting practice.
  1. Put a monkey-swing fire escape in alley for practice.
  1. Have a subtitles option for displaying instructions. Don’t have ‘em if ya don’t want ‘em.
  1. Put an old punchbag in one of the courtyard flats for hand to hand practice.
  1. Have a ‘hypnotising’ sound for when Kurtis is face to face with Lara after taking the Painting in the Louvre. She seems to be a bit tranced.
  1. Have a special psychic strength bar which loses quarters or thirds of total strength whenever Kurtis invokes a power."

These lines need to be read by both Lara and the Shaman so that their voices can be blended for effect.  
In expert mode the player will only get the ‘thinking’ prompt.
Two versions are given for each skill, Playstation and PC – PS2 and PC.
 
1/ PS2 - PICK UP OBJECT
THINKING - (PS.1) ‘I can pick that up.’
 INSTRUCTION - (PS.1a) To pick up an object, stand over it and press ‘action’.

Eckhardt lab alchemy puzzle

"AL-CHEMISTRY

Lara is searching for the third Periapt Shard which glows when all three are brought together. A glow comes from the bottom of a pool which proves to be acid [H2SO4].
Back in the alchemist’s lab are phials and containers full of purified elements and transformed minerals. By choosing the correct combination, Hydrogen, Oxygen and salt, [H, O and NaCl] and placing them in the slots of three engravings an alchemical transformation takes place.  The alchemically charged combination runs down a channel into the pool of acid and transforms it into harmless salt water [H2O & NaCl].

Cl Chlorine 17
 
Alchemically refined water and salt, H2O & NaCl, added to  the acid H2SO4 acts like a catalyst to produce a chain reaction. Alchemic transformation turns the sulphur in the acid to chlorine and releases masses of free oxygen and sodium. This results in a massive conversion of the acid into salt water."

  4. Buy ammo (from Pawnbroker)
  5. Bribe the ex-janitor to talk - £100.
  6. Bribe the doorman to get into Bouchard’s hideout – £500.
  7. Bribe Luddick for information in Prague - £20.
  8. Buy automatic machine pistol from Luddick in Prague – the Scorpion-X (Gloch 13c).
 
If the player doesn’t pick up any items in Map #1 Lara must be able to get ALL the cash she needs in Map #2.  
If she goes the route to get the ‘Box’ at the Serpent Rouge the ‘Box’ will tip the balance with bribing the Doorman. But the Box can’t be pawned. Too hot!
If Lara gets the password from the Janitor she won’t need to bribe the doorman.
